I purchased the chinchilla hut two weeks ago and was at first very happy with the easy assembly and that it did not use any nails or glue to harm my chinchilla. Mystic loves to climb on it, sleep in it, and most of all chew on it. However, I think the wood should be a bit thicker and the slots should be further in. Mystic has chewed all the thin groove pieces and in two weeks has completely ruined one slot side so one wall won't stay attached to the other walls. The way the sides stick out from each wall just makes it too easy for chinchillas to chew on it. I also have to remove the roof at night because she sits on her leap'n'ledge and lifts the roof up and bangs it down so she makes quite a racket with it. While Mysitc really seems to enjoy it, I think it should last longer than two weeks. I will be buying a different house but at least I can cut up the house and she can use it as chew toys.

Nice simple little hut for your chin that does slide together. We still put a little finishing nail in the top to help hold it together a tad better but we do not leave it in the chinchilla cage all the time. The love crawling on them and in them as well as chew them but they should last a good long while. No bottom as it sits directly on your cage floor bottom (or shelf). If we had one wish it was that they made them out of just a tad thicker wood but other than that a nice addition to your chin cage.

This is neat little house but it only fits one adult chinchilla. My pair tried very hard to fit in it together and ended up pushing the roof off instead! :)
