I dont reccomend this just becuase they are SOOOOO many other healther chinchilla pellets out there. My suggestion is feed them Oxbow farm Alflafa feed, They need alfafha in their deit and the bag is sealed at the top to keep it fresh plus the pet store I brought it from said it was the best food you can get them...they feed it to their chins. Its a little expensive but it lasts a while and then all I have to do is give they the pellets, timothy, and chew toys(plus the rasins of course)

If it's the only feed you can get, pick put all the treats, and use them for treats.
I would not feed it to my chins, and would ship-in a better pellet if I had to.

I started my chins out on this garbage before I knew better. It's the equivelent of feeding your children potato chips their entire lives and expecting them to grow up healthy. It has too many treats! Junk food in my opinion and I will never again even think about buying it! YUCK!

This is a great chinchilla product. My chinchilla was raised on this for her first 11 years and loved it. Due to it not being available locally, I've had to feed her Kline's, Kaytees, and other generic feed. She doesn't like them near as well, with some of the ingredients being left behind in her bowl. I like the variety in the SunSeed mix. Feeding a chinchilla a "normal" chinchilla feed is like a human eating Rykrisp (or worse) for his whole life and being thrown a banana once in a while. I prefer to spoil my chinchilla in her one room cage and know that she looks forward to me feeding her every day. She is now a healthy 14 years young, has always had consistant stools, and knows nothing about her cousins being made into fur coats, ear muffs, or whatever they do with them, just that she's glad to be in my home.

This doesn't look nutritious enough to be given to chinchillas as a meal. It might be able to be used as a treat, but only in small amounts.
