Very poor book, stay clear of it and get a decent one instead. Pretty pictures and a lot of misinformation and contradictions. Seems to have been put together by someone not knowing much about chins at all. Can't believe the author is supposed to be a veterinarian!!!

Although SOME parts of this book are OK, I feel I have to give it one star. I find it embarrassing that the author is a veterinarian and has more than 20 years of experience with chinchillas - and writes a book filled with mistakes.

Good for new chinchilla owners, but breeders should definitely have a better book than this because it doesn't go into much detail about breeding, genetics, etc. and only covers the basics of taking care of a chinchilla.
