This book was about average. It seems a little outdated (even the pictures look like they're out of the 80's). However, you can't judge a book by its cover, so I'll critique the content instead. The book does a good job of covering many different topics, such as food, breeding, illnesses, etc... It isn't as in-depth as it should be, most likely because it's an older book and more and more info is being found out about chinchillas all of the time. I would recommend it to new chinchilla owners, but I would also recommend that those chinchilla owners research different forums and such on the internet about chinchillas, because there is so much more to learn than what the book covers.
