OMG Dianah! You are gonna laugh sooo hard at this! 
So when I brought the 2 chinnies home, I put them in the cage! Then took one out (to sex it), then put it back, and pulled out the other to sex it! They both looked like females, so I was safe to leave them together! 
So yesterday, I let all 3 of my chinnies out to play, and noticed Gizmo (my male) was really nice with the one, but chasing the other one like crazy!! So I put them all away, and wet to watch some TV!  After a lil while it dawned on me that one could be a boy, and thats why Gizmo was acting mean to it!
So I got ahold of one, and had my girlfriend grab the other one and we checked them at the same time (so we couldnt get them mixed up!). Well....it turns out one was a female, and the younger one was a male!
The 1st time I checked them, I guesse since they looked exactly the same I grabbed the same chinnie both times!!!! 
So I had to seperate them so they didnt inbreed!! Im just hoping they havent bred with eachother yet!
I thought about you Dianah, and I honestly couldn't help laughing.... I was sure that since you had already given me the heads up that it couldn't possibly happen to me!!!      LOL!

I thought you had said his poo was getting harder?
For me it is super hard to get rid of a pet, especially once I get that personal bond!
One thing that would make me weary is .... what if the store doesnt give him the proper medical attention he needs?? I would feel more secure taking him to the vet myself, and making sure they do everything possible to help him pull through!

This is Ceasar.... he was supposed to be blind, but it turned out it was misscomunication, and he is Deaf not blind!


This is Remy... I think he may have adrenal disease, or some other disease, because he has 2 big bald spots (one on his neck, and the other on his head!)

Wow! Im sooo happy these guy got the most beautiful coat! It is a nice solid smooth color! Plus they are SOOO tame, and love to be handled! Can anyone tell me what color they are considered?  YEEEEE!!! I am sooo happpy!!

I absolutely cannot wait till my girlfriend gets home with the new sweeties! The baby is supposed to be a girl also, but of course I still will triple check to be sure!    I am soo happy!
I swear all my animals help with my stomach disease (Crohns Disease) I feel like I don't get depressed, and it gives me something to look forward to everyday! Plus, I can never keep a frown when they snuggle up next to me! Not even my Hedgehog, who I cannot really snuggle up with!

Yea, I instantly remember about your predicament whenever I hear people saying that they are positive of their chinies sex!
I seriously cannot wait till my girlfriend brings them back tonight!  And I swear gizmo knows somethings up, because when I was cleaning the room, he was jumping up & down his cage, and flipping over his little hut! He's such a lil booger! LOL!

So since Ive had Gizmo for quite a while now, I figured its time to get another! This time it is a 4yr old mom, and her 9month old baby! The lady Im geting them from is extremely busy, and barely has time to answer my emails, but I am going to prod her today to try to get the sex of the baby! I would hate for it to be a boy, and her to come pregnant already! Anyways... Im super excited, and ready! Im startin the cleanup of my pet room today, and gonna baby gizmo so he doesnt feel left out! I dunno how chinnies are, but I know my ferrets sometimes get depressed when i bring home a new rescue ferret!

On the way home from getting them, I plan on stopping at a pet smart in a rural town, because last time they sold me a brand new ferret cage being sold for $200 for only $50. I had brought in Gizmo with the cage he was given to me in (I had already planned on makng him a custom cage), and the manager came out and said he would just sell it for $50 since noone buys them, and since it would cost more then $50 to buy supplies to make a new one! (BTW: this has become my favorite "go-to" store for ANYTHING pet related, and I dont mind spending alot there, since they have EXCELLENT customer service!)

Well, I gotta get back to cleaning, sooo wish me luck!!
Ill post pics once I get them both situated and they are adjusted to my house!

My Gizmo absolutely LOVES oatmeal!! I also like it, because i can sprinkle a baby bit on every level of his cage so I at least make sure he's jumping on every level! Sometimes i sprinkle a baby bit in a pile of Tim hay, so he kinda "forages" through it for the oatmeal!
Also since he is newer and can sometimes get a lil shy, I make sure to pet him, and rub his chin and tummy while he's eating the oatmeal!! He really loves it when I go from his left side to the right side of his chin!! He squints and tilts his head for me!!  Its absolutely adorable... I mean "savage" (I gotta say it in a manly way since he is a boy!!)

Thank you for answering my question! I've been in Tijuana with my church for the past 3 days, and have misssed my pets SOOO much!!       Im gonna have to go to the store and get a few treats to spoil and baby them for a few days!!

Your lucky to have gotten a chinspin! I really want one for my baby Gizmo!! He came with a plastic wheel, and runs like a madman, so I know a good big wheel will be ALOT better for him!
Its pretty funny... When I go to clean his cage in the mornings and open the bottom door, if I put my hand like a wall to stop him from jumping out, he gets all mad, and bounces off the walls, and starts running on the wheel... Its like a baby throwing a lil temper-tantrum!!      He is just soo cute!!

Q & A / Pumice stone as Lave ledge??

So my girlfriend brought home a Pumice stone last night to clean the BBQ pit last night! Once I seen it I started wondering if it is the same material as a lava ledge?? My local pet store has been out of the ledges for over a week, and the lady said it was basically just a pumice stone! 
My girlfriend also said they sell them as foot scrubs for callous feet! (she has straight rhino hoofs! haha lol... dont tell her I said that!)     

So the question is... can I just get a pumice stone and attatch it to the cage so he can use it as a ledge??

OK! Ill give it a few weeks, I was just worried because he actually ate through quite a bit of bars at his previous home... so big that he actually almost escaped from the whole he made when I was setting up the new cage I bought in my house!       
On a side note, this morning I opened his cage and right away he jumped up on my hands and let me stand up while he jumped to my shoulders and chilled for a while!! He is absolutely so cute, and friendly!

Q & A / Checking chins teeth?

Ok, so ive been reading that their teeth should be a yellowish color, But how do I go about checking Gizmo's teeth?? Ive only had him for 4 days, and I dont wanna make him mad at me, and not wanna come to me (he's starting to trust me ALOT more, and now hops on my hands when I open the bottom door, and hold my hands out flat!).... So whats the appropriate way to check with out stressing him out, or getting him mad at me??

I just talked to the misses, and she requested the day off!!
It will be our first time ever to a show, and we are thinking of showing our Gizmo!! I dunno if he is show quality, but I dont see anything wrong with showing him and learning first hand about showing!!    ... any tips??
