Also do you know what color choice they are are they beige or Mosaic!

Gadget is a standard and he seems like a little pudge ball compared to Gizzie!  Gizzie is light tan/grey with pink ears.  He is just starting to get brown freckles on his ears.  Is that a sign of aging???

JoAnn  My daughter pointed out my mistake as she was reading my post.  Gizzie is a "he" not a "she"!  He just looks so sweet that I think of him as feminine!  I do not plan to breed so no male/female pairs here!
Gadget and Gizmo were together from the time they were less than a year old and they seem happy together.

Q & A / Re: Feeding your chin.
« on: July 31, 2006, 12:00:47 AM »
My chins get pellets every evening as well as hay and fresh water.  In the morning they usually get more hay and fresh water.  I want my water fresh so I give them fresh too ::nod::.

Q & A / Re: Apple Tree branches
« on: July 30, 2006, 11:33:52 PM »
My chins LOVE apple branches and being in a state with many apple prchards(NY) I can get mine from neighbors and friends.  I read somewhere to scrub them and then bake them in the oven at 250 degrees for an hour, so that's what I do.  Not only does it kill any bugs that may be hiding on the branches it also makes the house smell great!

Hi everyone.  My name is Alison and I have been lurking here for awhile, getting GREAT info about chins.  I have 2 male chins:  Gadget and Gizmo.  They are actually my twin 11 year old daughters' pets, but I just let them do the work and I enjoy the "babies". ::silly::  Hee hee!   I had been researching chins for about 6 mos. when a friend said she needed a home for Gadget and Gizzie.  She is having a baby any day now and felt she wouldn't have time for the chins.  I thought about it for a few weeks and then took my kids to see the chins and of course we all fell in love with them!!!
We have now had them since April and we are still in love with them.  My friend said they are about 4 years old.  Gadget must have had a rough start in life as both of his ears are chewed and he is pretty timid and shy.  Gizzie is a sweetie pie and very social.  She is always the first one to the door for a treat and the first one out the door at playtime.

I want to thank all of you for the wonderful information I have gotten about chins and their care.  These are the first pets in our house as I am allergic to just about anything with fur or feathers.  I was so excited that I am NOT allergic to chins!  As long as the girls' take care of putting hay in for them I am ok.
