I have posted pictures for everyone to see....wow this is WAY more work then I thought it would be  . They are 1 day old and are crawling up the cages and they can fit through the bars  :::((( so I had to put them in the smaller cage that is low to the ground. I guess I am going to get a big box for them but Mama Mia is not going to be to happy about it but I have to keep the babies safe. I have feel in love with Smokey my lil man (there is 2 pictures of him on there) but if you would, take a look at the pictures and let me know what you think, I took them about 6 hours after they were born

::wub:: Loving my Chin's

New Births / Mama Mia Had Her Babies!!!
« on: March 10, 2010, 12:47:05 PM »
I am so exited, the kits were born this morning  :::((( sometime when I woke up I had 3 new members of my family  rofl
I did however get to watch here deliver the afterbirth..lol. This is my 1st time so I can not really tell about the sex of them but I believe it to be 1 boy and 2 girls! The boy is not moving around like the girls, he was the 1st one I held and I held him for about 3-4 minutes (I went and showed him to my husband and gave him 10,000 kisses) he stayed still the whole time and was the best boy ever! When I got the 2 girls to hold they were all over the place wanting to get back to their mommy. Do you think he is the "runt" everyone seems the same size but I do not have one of those scales to weigh them on please let me know what you think and I will take pictures if they ever get finished eating..haha  ::silly:: ::silly:: ::silly::

Q & A / Blood in urine??
« on: March 09, 2010, 11:07:57 PM »
My Chin's were in the bathroom tonight for their free-play and when I got back in there one of them had peed in the corner and it was more of a brown coloring instead of yellow. I think there was blood in it and I do not know if this is normal with a pregnant Chin or not. My female Mia is due anyday now....could this be a sign of the kits coming or is it time to go to the doctor? I am not even sure it was her because they both were in there together! I am worried because the babies use to move like crazy all of the time and now I can not see or feel them moving. I know there is not alot of room for movement but I am worried! Please can you help??? ::cry222:::

Q & A / Re: flying saucer questions
« on: March 08, 2010, 09:05:55 PM »
NO!!! I have one and it is not silent it is however, more silent then the ones that hang on the side of the cage. I bought the large saucer for my chins and I have it on one of the selves in the cage that is only about 1ft tall and it fits on it just fine. I have had mine for about 6 months and I do like it the best out of the 3 I have had (medal one that stands up and the plastic one that hung on the cage) the Chin's most definitely used/liked the plastic one the best but they chewed the center of it until it broke  :::(((

General Chat / Re: Stressed because of cage location

Mine are also in my livingroom and it does not seem to bother them in the least. I really feel that they like being around you and it makes them feel safe to hear our voices. I have two girls ages 9 & 4 which the Chin's love, and my 4 years old is on the wild side!!! I think we kinda fit, we keep them awake some in the day and they definitely keep us awake some at night ::shrug::

« on: March 04, 2010, 11:05:02 PM »
I have a very pregnant, due anyday Chin. I am soooo exited :2funny: (it's mine and her 1st time)!!!!! I know I can not touch or hold the babies right away but how long is long enough? I was thinking around 3 days but I definitely do not want to hurt them or make Mama Mia upset. Please let me know what you think rofl

General Breeder Chat / pregnant with multiple kits????
« on: March 03, 2010, 06:08:52 PM »
I am very worried about my very large pregnant Chin Mia. She is right at 1 year old and this her 1st time being pregnant and she is HUGE!!! She has almost doubled in size. I just got her the 15th of November 2009 and I brought my male Jack with me to make sure they got along and they done great so I brought her home that night. Well here we are 3 1/2 months later and she is about to blow, I can not believe it happened so fast.  I have read that they usually only have 1 kit the 1st time and that 4 in most all cases the max.  I was thinking about going and getting an ultrasound done to make sure there are a safe number of chins in there, I do not want anything to happen to Mia. She is very miserable and has been for the past month. It seems like when they move and/or kick it about kills her, she jumps! All she does is lay on her side until she gets hungry or I give her a treat. She actually bite me for the 1st time a couple of days ago. I can not hold her at all, the last time I did 3 days ago I could feel the babies in there moving and kicking really bad.
Here is my question's....when is it enough? Should I go and have them do a c-section on her (that is a big risk on mama and kits) should I wait it out and let nature take it's course and just make sure I am here for the next month 24-7 (I have no clue when she got pregnant seems to be the 1st night I brought her home) ??????????? I need some advice

Q & A / Re: Advice needed Please!!!!
« on: March 02, 2010, 12:00:28 PM »
If it was me, I would let the mean sister go ::cry222::: she is making all of the other Chin's not feel welcome in their own homes. If you can't play with her or have anything to do with her and she is intimidating everyone else, what is the point in having her plus there is always the chance of her bitting another person.
