Greetings From Canada
« on: August 27, 2007, 08:02:58 AM »

Hello Everyone!!!
I'm from the Maritimes portion of Canada. I am a new owner to Chins and and looking for lots of information and people to share the chinny experience with.

I was a recent rat owner & still a rat lover  ;D, so I know how important it is to look for many resources so I can provide good care. The main reason why I choose to try chins is life length. Rats live 2-3 years on average, it was so amazing to read that chins can live to 15 yrs or so. (I have read a few diff numbers). Its hard on the heart to loose pets as I am sure most of you know. I wanted more time to bond this time.  :)

But as a new Chinchillia owner, I have lots of questions! So, thanks in advance for the help! lol :rofl

Well now I can't believe it another Canadian, and a Maritimer. ::gobananago:: ::banana::

So where are you?
I'm on the Rock, and am very glad to meet you.

Yes I love that chins live so long, my oldest is 12 so far. I started breeding just over 8 years ago.
SO what colour is your chin, where did you get him, and how old is he/she??
Ask away we are only too glad to share if you will, we love pics. ;)

A Big Welcome

Oh, yeah!  My oldest is 15 and still going strong.  She runs on her wheel and is as active as a kit!

Debbie -  I was born in Nova Scotia and lived there most of my life, but have been living the past 3 years in New Brunswick. However, due to education I have been bouncing between NS & NB! lol Its a pleasure to meet you too :) I have never been to Newfoundland unfortunately!

I have one standard grey 3 mos old female. I purchased her from a local private animal needs store. They also are closely linked with a local shelter, and sell the shelters pets. My Chin was sold to this store from a breeder who was getting out of the business and moving from the city.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. I hope to be around as much as possible, however I am limited in my time starting this september. I am a student in a Pre vet program, with hopes of getting into vet school in at least 2 years.

I would love to share photos of my beautiful little girl! :D Is there image size restrictions? I never noticed any rules regarding that yet.
