Mildly Smelly Poo
« on: November 05, 2012, 08:41:05 PM »

Hey everyone:

One of my guys has mildly smelly poo, I forget what this means!

It is not runny or anything like that, and they look like regular chinchilla poo's, and he is eating and drinking fine from what I can tell.

He was in a tussle with one of the new ones I got, they had to be seperated, could stress from this have caused it?

Thanks to whoever answers!

I can see how stress could cause that. Just make sure it goes back to normal in a couple of days and watch for changes. I think you'll find the poo is softer than normal which is caused by faster than normal bowel transit times.

Agreed.  As long as there is no change in consistency it is fine.  If it does start to get wet you will want to have a vet do a wet mount of fresh poop produced in the office to check for Giardia.
