Long whiskers

Is there any need to trim a chinchilla's whiskers regularly or at all?
I've read about trimming the dominant chin's whiskers if there is bullying but I'm just talking about general grooming.

My chins' whiskers are about 5 to 6 inches long on each side and I noticed that Dyno has a hair that looks as if it has a split end. Should I trim it or is this something they will deal with themselves?

i would not. in fact, i would not trip whiskers on a bullying chin. i know if i ever touch the whiskers by accident, they are not pleased (the chins, not the whiskers). split ends really are not a problem. whiskers do fall out on a regular basis.

Maybe a split is common in whiskers, but I have only seen one of mine that way and that is if she chews them.
