if you use the freezer, just make sure it doesn't get wet when you defrost.

air tight containers for food.  hay i leave the bag open so it can breath,  i heard once some recommend putting hay in a [clean] pillow case, that way it can breath, but you can also keep it in a dark place and keep it covered.

but like [back to pellets] alot of them are good for 6 mos from the mill date, so if they are stored in a air tight container out of the sun and heat, they will be fine.

For the food I keep it in a dark place in an air tight container and the hay I also have in a container with holes in it so it can breathe. I buy in bulk.

::silly::  I have an airtight container for the food (screw on top) as I open it.  I purchase it in 50 pound bags and keep them on an elevated palette in the cool basement.

For hay ... I place the hay in a large cloth, light weight canvas, bag that is stretched over a wooden frame with a cloth lid on it.  The bag does not touch the floor.

Vitamins and supplements are always kept refrigerated.

Just my preferences and health regulations.

I vacuum pack all of my food, stays quite fresh that way honestly.  And no issues with bugs or anything :)

Pellets are actually kept in a sterilized washed out cat littler tower container...seems to be fine...The rest of everything else, except for hay are kept in glass air tight jars taken from my workplace in which nuts and other forms of food were once transported and stored...never had a problem...My hay I just keep in the bag like a bread bag but with a bit of breathing room... My mother-in-law laughs because she says that the jars look like crystal containers like the commercial for Fancy Feast cat food where the white persian is eating from a crystal wine goblet...the glass jars look like that....I never said they were not spoiled  :2funny: rofl The room is cooler than the rest of the house where the chins are so that helps also.  ;D :D ::silly::
