Through word of mouth my sister was asked if she could take a puppy as they were not planned and the owner could not find homes for them.
Sad story but the short of it, the lady ended up in hospital when her pup was 6 months old. He mother looked after it but it got out and mated with the mini poodle pup next door.
She was afraid her own pup couldn't handle the pregnancy, but she did give birth to 2 healthy little fur balls the end of April.
My sister decided to take one of them and I fell right in love. a week later she turned up at my door with the other one. She knew I would have taken it.
The mom is a Maltese poodle mix but we're not sure how true the other dogs genes are so I have a mini mutt.
And I have to tell you, I have never had as much trouble using a harness with the chins as I am having with this little dog.
I named him Chance, and it was a fat chance I would ever have a dog.{Fixed it LOL} My husband doesn't like dogs, or so he says.
So I elated to have this little guy.
My sister has the female named Karma I have the male.

I am having a blast for sure. And he loves the chins and the chins love him!!!! It's priceless.

I look forward for future pics posted of Chance to see what he looks like when he is older! So cute how he loves the chins...how does he act around them? See all my dogs do is stare and I imagine all they are thinking is mmmmmm food....

Yes Kelly I wonder will Chance get the long hair???

The first time I brought him over to the chins room he was excited and sniffing at all the cages. kinda whining at them.
So over the next few nights I just let him do that. Then I cracked open one of the sliding glass doors on a lower cage so they could just go nose to nose. Well they both got excited. So the next night I let him stay right there as I cleaned out the cage. Well he wanted in like it was his long lost family. Then over comes one of the chins and starts grooming him. Well he was licking her she was grooming and chirping at him.
So then you know I had to hold him up to all the chins. He thinks their all his and he has to take care of them I'm sure.His little stubby tail was wagging at 90 knots.He would kiss them, then me LOL
Now if I take Colby down I leave Chance up, just too much to keep track of LOL Chance sits by the basement door and pouts. It's too funny.

Hi Enna, how is Raspberry doing??? Meant to get intouch but had some new births and with the new puppy, and getting pedigrees done up for the last kits!!!!! I haven't had much time for anything, but I love it!!!

He's doing great. Ended up moving him to the birdies room as i was worried about the cats but it was in some ways better for him. Cage was allowed open when i was in the room till he found out he could get into  the box spring of my bed thanks to a rip in it. Took me 2 hours to get him out. He's still out a lot, i just can't leave him alone for about 5 mins anymore.

Congratz on the new kits. I'd love to get another baby some time in the future. Totally inlove with the PinkWhite mutations. Don't think i'm ready for another just yet as i'm already wanting a bigger cage for him just so i can deck it up more.

That is just too cute and funny!!!!! You never know what the mutts will turn out like in the end...it is always so interesting to me. The best of luck to you with your new puppy!!!!!! Hopefully he wont be to hard to train!

Well my puppy is 8 months old now.
His under coat fur is so thick, and yes he has the long hair though not quite like the full bred Maltese.. I had to clip him because he was getting over heated the summer and had two mild heat exhaustion episodes.
He is doing great with the cat and the chins, but I never did get him to wear a harness. LOL
He starts his first level obedience class tomorrow night. He's so good and smart I want to get the most out of him.
So here he is now  
Oh and he grew to 11 pounds, his sister is only 6 pounds

Very cute puppy.  Males are usually bigger than females.  Your pup looks like he is getting the poodle hair.  Which is alittle easier to groom than maltese hair.

And I forgot to mention that during the summer he was so warm he started chewing his fur.
I have never had a chin do it. 

Yes you should see him wet, he goes all curly, but it's not so easy to keep looking good. 5 minutes after a brush he looks like a woolly what's it 
He has a very thick undercoat and then the long hair.It's taking it's sweet time growing back too. Though I have to clip his face every 6 weeks or so or you can't see his eyes.
