i shouldn't even be here.. teehee

i know they can have hay from a farm/horse place..etc...feed supply..

what i don't know is: do they get different types of hay, cuz you will need to make sure to get one that is chin safe.

what i do know.. is that its has to be stored so it doesn't have mold, and well, not to sound like an idiot but i have no clue how they do things for other animals..

but the money you can save!!! when i get down, i'm gonna have to check this out myself.

Hi, I feed my chinchillas alpaca hay. They love it. It has all the good stuff that chins can eat. Alpacas have special grass grown for them. My chins will not eat any other type of hay, only the alpaca hay. I tried to feed them store bought hay and they would not eat it. 1 flake from my alpacas hay lasts them 1 to 2 months. Shannon

You can go to alpaca nation and look for a farm near you or type in alpaca farms in your own state and see what you can find. The guy I buy mine from has Suri alpacas and he grows his own hay. It costs about $4.00 for 1 bale. Like I said my chins love it and they wont eat store bought hay now.
