My Cages
« on: May 13, 2010, 06:43:32 AM »

I built my chinchilla cages with my dad. It was a lot of work. He also helped me build a chin room just for them. It's all safe so they can run around and have a blast. We buily them a long time ago and they have lasted about 6 years. There still in good condition.

My crazy jack russell Jack, she is beyond nuts, I love that dog.

My other crazy jack russell Rocky who is just as nuts, there sisters.

WOW! They look nice. How did you build your cage? My dad and i have been thinking about building one. I would love to have to complete chin safe room for my chins to run around it. I hope when I get a house i'll be able to do that.

It was a ton of work. They were closets made into cages. We just cut the doors around and put mesh up. Then the shelves were already in there so we just cute scquare holes in the sides so they could get threw.

They love the chin room. It's nice and quiet and they get to race around and play.

That's a really good idea. I wouldn't have thought of that.

The metal that you used around the 'enterances' of the different levels and rooms... what was it and how did you bend it? I dont have access to a metal brake, but I want to expand the 2'x2'x3' custom cage that i have to 2'x2'x5' and I want a 'floor' between the levels. I was going to just put some pine around the 'enterance' but figured metal might be a more durable investment.
