wheels
« on: July 21, 2006, 12:08:42 PM »

I got a new chin the other day and I am going to try putting him with my other male, but until then I feel bad that he doesn't have a wheel. What is the smallest wheel that is safe for a chin? The 1 I have in Roo's cage is 15" and we messed the door of the cage up trying to get it in.

I actually have 2 male in the same cage when I got snowball I just put ihm in with Buddy L I did have another cage but since Buddy wanted company and Snowball was with others i figured i would try it and it was great they love each other there was a little back talk between them both but they needed to figure out who was the alfa male i would try it with supervision also Buddy is a very calm tempered chin. if not put their cages next to each other and see how they react and let them run around in the same room together and see how they do but don't go any smaller than 15 in cause if you get one smaller you will end up harming their back you coukd get one of those wire ones with the small squares not the lines and take the wheel off the base and put in the cage and then assemble it together in the cage

Don't feel bad about the wheel, if it's just temporary, he'll be fine. I would save your money for chews and new toys. :) He'll be fine. None of my chins have wheels.

::silly::If you'll clean your cages real good about once a week ... they could swap cages back and forth.  Or, is there somewhere outside the cage you could mount it and they could play on it at playtime.   ::nod::

I am changing my last post to DO NOT GET THAT METAL KIND!!!!!!
mine that I had broke!
from them being on it so much they love that thing if they could sleep and be on it
i think that they would
it broke were the wheel gets hooked on at and it just got ground down from soo much use
and I was cleaning everything in my cage and noticed it and if i didn't it would have broken off in a couple days and probably hurt one or both my chins
that is the part that thing rubbing on his fur doesn't toush him all the way but it could've hurt
