Welcome to the North East Chinchilla Club website. We are an official Chapter of The Chinchilla Club serving the North East United States. (i.e. Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, And Virginia) Our organization brings chinchilla lovers together through educational chinchilla seminars for pet owners and breeders, Trade Shows and/or Claim shows, Photo brag get togethers, and Covered Dish suppers. We are a genuine tight knit support group for all people in all aspects of the chinchilla industry. An Annual membership to the North East Chinchilla Club is $10. And will give you a reduces fee at all of our functions, a subscription to our printed club magazine (this is coming this year but hasn’t stated yet) and a full membership to The Chinchilla Club including their On-line Chinchilla Magazine I am Missi Goldblatt, the Owner of the chapter, but being one person who resides in one location I do not think it would be fair to hold only NY state based functions. So this is what I propose to all who join. I will need one person in each state to coordinate the functions in their state. I think this will make it easier for all of you (which most seemed to be anti-travel). I will attend the all of the out of state functions that I can. In addition to all of the out of state functions there will be regular functions held in NY. That will be open to all club members. Over the years I have been in the chin business I have met a lot of great knowledgeable people who are willing to judge shows and speak at educational seminars etc. Do not get me wrong I am not trying to shrug any responsibility or pass it on to others I simply want to strive to make our functions accessible to all of our states in our area. Just because I am out of state I will still help the heads of each state in any way I can plan and achieve a great function. Rules...Every club has rules!! Ours will be simple 1) Be kind and polite and helpful. (Remember it wasn't always that we knew as much as we do now, so we must help to educate others in our path) 2) No bashing of anyone involved in the industry whether they are pet owner, breed for pet, show, pelts. These are hot topics and I do not feel it would behoove us any to feed fuel to the fire.
