Naughty Chins!
Chapter 1: Fiendishly fluffy!
The lights went out in the Chinchilla room, leaving it lit only by the light of the moon on the clear evening, glinting in through the window. The chinchillas sat quietly, almost as if contemplating what they should get upto first! Night time was always an adventure, even though they were each confined to their own cages, whether in pairs or having a handsome male shared amongst the girls, plenty of naughtiness would always take place.
What would should I get upto first? Hmm such a decision, a nibble on a pellet perhaps? no that had been done already at feeding time, the scramble to be first to the food bowl, that fun was already over. Water bottles, hmmm always good to have a rattle of the nozzle, how hard do I have to push it to knock it on the floor? Cannot remember, oh well, perhaps something else then! OK we have the swinging tunnels to sit in, leap on, try and knock someone else off of, or perhaps playing with that chew stone that is now ball shaped due to the last weeks hard night shift work, yeah cool lets roll it around the cage and see just how much noise I can make! hehe!
Always something to keep me occupied during the night, listening in on the neighbours, whether they are making out or having an argument, or just general gossip of who has been introduced to who, who is pregnant, or arent those babies of your neighbours naughty! hehe! Takes one to know one after all, naughtiness is in my nature, being so inquisitive, yet so cute you can always get away with whatever naughty stunt you perform! OK so what shall I get upto now? I still have a couple more hours before the sun comes up and then I will be so tired, I believe I shall sleep the whole day away....
Chapter 2: Yippie! Freedom!
Okay, I have been sitting here for hours in this cage and I really want to go and stretch my legs a bit. I feel full of energy and playtime under my human’s supervision was fun, but I really feel into naughtiness for the moment. I need something more than the usual nighttime occupation, I have the feeling I have to break loose. Yeah! That is it! I found it! My humans are all asleep and I can discover the house on my own.
Little chinchilla teeth swiftly went to work and chewed and chewed until the little daredevil saw the opportunity to squeeze himself to freedom. The night was still young and so many rooms to be explored.
He hopped off to the guinea pig cage and first woke the piggies up before nibbling on their chewing stick to get some sunflower seeds off and then tasted their hay from the hayrack. Thanks ladies for your hospitality, but I am a chinchilla with a mission and I am on my way now!
Then the chinchilla ventured into the kitchen and noticed the box on the floor where mommy keeps the treats. Hmmm, I wouldn’t mind a little raisin. He dived into the box, found the raisin box and started chewing it until the desired treasure was found: yummie juicy raisins. The chinchilla had a ball eating them and then was on his way to the living room.
He lived in a nice house and the walls were recently redecorated with new wallpaper. He hadn’t had the opportunity yet to taste the new wallpaper as each time mommy notices his intending to so, she yells at him. But now mommy is soundly asleep, so why not have a tiny piece to know what it tastes like? The chinchilla was all excited when he tore a small piece of the new wallpaper off. Hmm, the taste wasn’t so bad. I wonder if it will taste the same next to the door? Off went another piece of wallpaper and the chinchilla had the time of his life tearing off pieces.
He started to feel thirsty but going back to his cage was not something that he felt like doing right now. There still was so much left to do. I’m thirsty, I could use some water, all this chewing made my little mouth feel dry. Oh, I know something! Mommy keeps this thing containing water on the dinner table. She puts flowers in it, but I know there is water too!
The chinchilla jumped onto the chair and then onto the table. Yes, there it was what he was looking for. He went over to the vase and tried to drink from the water, but he couldn’t reach it. Well, extending a bit more and putting my face a bit deeper will sure do the job. The chinchilla tried to reach the water and stretched so hard that the vase fell and rolled onto the floor with a loud bang …
