Which One Is Which?
Can you pass the test?

Tammy Chin Mom #1 Jelly Belly Chin Mom #2

Is Tammy a white mosaic, or white mosaic/ebony carrier, or a white mosaic/TOV?

Taz Chin Daddy # 3 Zorro Chin Daddy # 4

Is Taz a white mosaic, a white mosaic/ebony carrier, or a white mosaic/TOV?

Can you match the parents to each of the to kits below?

Kit #1 Kit #2

Which kit above is a regular white mosaic, or white mosaic TOV, or is one/both an Ebony White?

This is why it is important to know the background of your chinchillas ... as far back as possible.

What about the two kits below?

Kit #3 Kit #4

Which kit above is a regular white mosaic, or white mosaic TOV, or is one/both an Ebony White?

Now, for the real fun ... can you guess who this kit belongs to? If any, of the above.

Kit #5

Is it a sibling to any of the above kits? If so, which one/ones?

Often when buying/adopting a chin a TOV Carrier can cost you more,
BUT ...
An Ebony Carrier will usually cost much more.

Can you "afford" not to know the difference?

If you match what you think/or have been told is a TOV carrier (but is really an ebony carrier) with a beige, thinking you will get brown velvets ... sorry, you won't get the brown velvets you wanted.

If you match what you think/or have been told is an Ebony Carrier, but is really a TOV carrier, with a white mosaic, pink white, beige, or violet , you will not get what you expect. There will be no hetro ebonies. What you think would be ebony carriers, will be TOV carriers instead and will affect future generations.

When you match your chins up with a new mate ... to get the results you want, can you afford to not know the background of your chinchilla?
