Home-made Chinchilla Treats

My chinchilla loves oat meal balls. Just take some oats like Quaker oat meal and put a small amount in a bowl. You only need a smaller amount since oats expand. Then add about one to one and one half teaspoons of hot or warm water AT MOST to the oats. Let the oats soak up the water for a minute or two. Then when they are gooey but not watery work them into a ball. If you add too much water just add more oats. Then take out a sheet of wax paper to let it set out on. Set it in a nice dry place to dry for about one or two days. My chinchilla likes it to be a little bit moist. Also another treat is to place alfalfa in the center and to roll it in its food or cover it in dried fruit. Regular hamster or gerbil food works well since it is small and sticks well. After it is dried to however you like it just place it in a place you know your chinchilla will find it. That is basically to it to oat meal balls.
