As you may know we are already working on the next edition of the CCQ which will be devoted to chinchilla teeth. We have some wonderful articles on common tooth problems, possible causes, preventions, and treatments. Our CO-Director Anjela Ross is conducting her own research for this project and has placed two surveys in the Contests and Polls section. If you have not yet taken these surveys please take a moment to do so now. I think you will find our next issue very educational!

Weekly Newsletters
We now have weekly newsletter that comes out every Tuesday. It includes topics such as:

In The Works
Our next outreach program is in the works. This one will focus on Animal Shelters. We have already been listing chinchillas in shelters needing adoption in our newsletter, but the sad truth is many shelters are kill shelters and choose to put down exotic animals rather that try to adopt them out. This usually comes from a lack of information.
We are working on a care guide for shalters along with a special membership they can request which will give them free access to the club pages. We would also like to get the word out that we can help place those animals through our newsletter and classifieds. We can offer help by phone for any care questions they may have and provide care sheets and membership to the people who adopt these chinchillas if they have never had a chinchilla before. We hope that by getting this information out to as many shelters as possible we can save and improve the lives of chinchillas who wind up in animal shelters.

Please remember that we have finished our Pet Store Packets to help pet stores better care for their chinchillas. If you have a local pet store that is selling chinchillas you are welcome to print out the packet and give it to them, or we can mail it for you. We will soon have it avalible in French and Dutch thanks to Christel of Christel's Lovely Chinchillas and Guinea Pigs. You can find the program printouts
