Newbie Here!
« on: February 21, 2007, 02:01:38 PM »

Hello Everyone! I'm new to this Forum!

The name's Erica.. I'm 19. I live in VA.
I have 2 Chinchillas... Ember (standard male) & Squeakers (standard female). They are wonderful. I hope to get more (as cagemates for them), but I am picky and tend to change my mind and things come up ... so who knows when I'll be able to add more to the family? {but, I do already have names in mind}

Anyways - I don't have tons of quesitons... but, I'm sure I'll come up with some down the road to bug everyone!  :::grins::

Thanks!

::silly::Hi Erica!

Welcome to the Chinchilla Club Forum!
Go slowly adding your chins and get the best quality you can find and afford.

It is better to get 2 high quality chins instead of 8 medium quality, chins for the same amount of money.

Never breed pet store chinchillas or chinchillas that you do not have the family background on ...
if you do ... you will be headed for a heart ache.

I'm in no hurry... I couldn't keep more than 4. (Boyfriend and I live with his parents right now)

I will confess - I did breed them... I didn't know any better. I regret it. There are already too many homeless chinchillas with out stupid people like me breeding.

I've done more research and I thought of getting quality chins to breed but, I think I need to leave it up to the pros. There seems to be too much heart ache involved for me to handle.

They are permanently separated. I do really want to find them cage mates... Until then, I settled for buying them Chin Cuddle Buddies! {which I should get in the mail next week}

Jo Ann, I've actually met with you for one of your chins (which, I regrettably didn't get). We met at Wal-mart last month. I always look on your page to see if you have any new kits... Hopefully you'll have some chinnies popping soon!  ::silly::

Hi Erica,
Nice to meet you.
I'm on par with Joyce & Sweetnessheart, started with 2 was stopping at 10 and now have 30. ;D
They are the most adorable little critter, and very addictive.
Heed Jo Ann's advice, she's a real guru, and very funny to boot. ::gobananago::
You'll enjoy a good laugh sharing valuable knowledge while meeting nice folks here at the club.
I hope you love it as much as we do.

Oh and one of these days you'll have your own place ;)

I told myself that my whole childhood when Dad wouldn't let me have a pony. :D
though we did have most everything else.
