That is really interesting Debbie as I have always had twins with a odd single litter & have only ever had one litter of triplets which was this year & to a first time mum.
Up until last year my chins were in the spare room in the house but last year I moved them into a purpose built unit outside.
Jo Ann I do watch my pairings & have space to separate my chins should I need to...the pairings I now have have been put together slowly & I spend a lot of time with them watching  them & how they are with each other.
I am happy with a litter a year per couple & give mum a long rest between litters & I am also happy with single litters. :)

Me too, I rather like single kits, they get people friendly faster, they seem calmer as they see no sibling rivalries, and it is much easier on Mom.

I agree.  Any baby at all is a good baby!  They are all precious!  More than one is just icing on the cake as far as I'm concerned.

Being so far away I'm sure I was a little later in getting my copy of the MCBA mag.
I see that topics haven't changed much sense 1966.
Reading the ranch reports about the effects of lighting was very interesting.
I am going to try some of those experiments myself.
After reading I had to check my files.
For the last 2 years I checked, I got females kits born from Jan. - June, and males from then to years end. ::think::
They do have a small SE facing window that I have never covered, plus daylight florescent tubes that are on from at least 9:30 pm to 3am.Yes we are nocturnal as well. ;D
Then they have darkness until the sun comes up. So mine get very little total darkness.
Have any others noticed season trends in the sexes of your kits?
