Your should never remove a tooth unless absolutely necessary. The opposing tooth would also need removed as well. It's not a good idea to do it unless the tooth can not be saved since its not uncommon for their jaws to break during the procedure and for them to have complications due to the anesthesia. Is your chinchilla having s problem?

yes my chinchilla has a broken bottom incisor tooth, due for a CT scan on the 8th and depending on results The Bristol Zoo exotics specialist vet is going to remove the tooth possibly teeth. They have already tried metacam and tramadol to help with pain and get him eating alone but it isn't working so looks like I have no other options  :(
The pulp is almost exposed so the poor little man must be in agony.. this will be my 3rd exotics vet and i am now at the highest level I can get to. This is going to cost me 500 pounds and I don't even know if I will have a chinchilla at the end of it  ::cry222:::

Dozla,
Seeing as you are in the uk, are you able to go to chinformative.com and make an account and ask for advice. It is a uk based forum and some people there might be able to give you specific advice.

I don't want you to stop posting here but in this case the important thing is getting as much information from as many people as you can.

I post here but i am also in the uk and post on there as well. There are a few people there that have been through alot and have many many years of experience between them.

Sorry to hear of your hard times. I hope things will turn out for the best.
