is this normal?
« on: May 04, 2015, 04:45:30 PM »

Hi All
At Play time My chins sometimes stay very still either on all 4's or on their hind legs will sit and .... stare at my wall ...
the wont do it together sometimes one is staring at the all and the other at the wardrobe door??
is this standard behaviour or is it a sign of something wrong? the still play and run and hide and chew but sometimes ... they stare at nothing  ::silly:: ::silly::  ::shrug::

Thanks for any advice  :)

I don't think that's indicative of something wrong with them. It sounds like they might be alerted by something. A chinchilla that stands up with its ears straight up is looking for a threat and may be hearing a noise or something it doesn't like. Their ears are much more sensitive than ours. I can understand at playtime it is a strange environment for them. If they are startled by something they'll freeze until they feel safe again or they'll try to hide. Perhaps you'll find a cause and perhaps you won't.

Mine do the same. They are almost certainly hearing something you cannot.
