Black eye discharge??

Hi all,
New to the board, we have a 4 year old chin and I noticed yesterday he has a black line on his lower lid. It looks like eyeliner. His eye is not runny, I actually had to wipe it a bit to see if it was just the color of his lid and I had just never noticed ( we adopted him about a year ago). A bit of black did come off, so it's some kind of discharge. I'm calling the vet tomorrow, but thought I'd ask if anyone had ever noticed this in their Chins.

I don't think this is a big problem. Sometimes chinchillas get a little crusty around the eyes for benign reasons. If it comes back in a day or two it is probably time to get an exam though.

Thanks for the response :) We are bringing him to the vet tomorrow just in case. It's not getting worse but not going away either.
