Chin Apparel and Accessories
« on: January 19, 2015, 11:54:56 PM »

Hi guys!  It's been awhile since I've posted.  Recently put my graphic skills to use and designed some cute characters based on my chin babies for us parents on cafepress! ;)  Hope you guys like it and happy shopping!  http://www.cafepress.com/mintpurplestudio/12137892

That's cool. I like the color transitions. It looks almost like vector art but has just enough unevenness to look like it's hand painted.

That would be great. I hope you do well. I think it's a nice design. You may do better if you can create a product line of chinchilla designs instead of just one design. I did Attack of the Zombie Chinchilla and might make 30 sales a year but I don't really have much of an advertising campaign for it.

Thanks for the idea!  I'll think about making a product line  :)  Wow just saw your design on cafepress, it's awesome!  Did you do that all in illustrator? That's amazing!  ::silly::

It was actually done with paper and graphite using a variety of clutch pencils and blenders, scanned, imported into Corel PhotoPaint (something like Adobe Photo Shop does pretty much the same things) and just used some basic smear tools to blend and smooth it more using a digitizer tablet. Then I brushed on color with a filter.

I'm also mistaken about the 30 sales per year, it's probably not that high. I don't handle the e-commerce part of our site so I don't know the exact number but it's really not that much. Like I said, if you want sales, you should produce a solid line, and market it as much as you can.
