How do i keep food fresh

Hi it is easier and cheaper to buy chinchilla food in 50lb bags and I want to know if there of are ways to keep the food fresh.  I though about freezing to food in air tight bags, would that keep it fresh

Freezing should not be a problem. Just be super careful about minimizing condensation within the mix as wet pellets can mold and become extremely hazardous to your pets.
