Hello from Maine

Hello,
My family and I have a new family member. A female chin. We named her Effie. She came from pet smart and seems pretty energetic. We have also picked up a used fn 142 double cage also.
We are happy to have her and trying to make the best home for her :-)

That's awesome. Congrats on your new pet. Be very gentle with her for the first week and after the first week make an assessment. Chinchillas are easily stressed when they are relocated. Make sure she regularly comes to you when you put her hand in the cage before attempting to take her out and do not let her roam outside of the cage for the first week.

yea she will come over to us at the bars of the cage to check us out and nibble on fingers. and she has taken food and a raisin from my wife last night.
she is a jumpy so we are taking it slow with her
