Homemade treats??
« on: March 17, 2014, 10:33:30 AM »

I think I've posted this before, but I was wondering if there would be a way to make homemade chinchilla treats with oats, hay, and bananas or strawberries or other fruits that are chin- safe when they're dried. If the ingredients are safe, wouldn't it mean that it's possible to make a homemade treat?

I just bought some "Sensible Food" brand dried fruits... low calory count, and they dry it so that it contains mostly air, so my Chin thinks it's a nice big piece but it's very low total sugar content. :) ... their pieces are already pretty small, but I break them even smaller. So economically, I can't be bothered to make my own treats anymore since a $1 pack is gonna last popsicle over a month. Maybe over 3 months.

I've done dried apple slices! My chin Khloe goes nuts for them!!! and they're very easy to make in the oven!
