Hello From Missouri!! :)

Hi My name is Kaylee and I am 22. I have a huge heart when it comes to animals. I have four dogs, three miniature Nigerian goats, two horses, two turtles, three fish, 5 snails AND I just recently became a Chin owner as of Saturday January 5th!! In the short time that I have had him its already been a little journey..lol...I can honestly say I have a lot to learn but I think I am getting there...I hope. I hope nobody minds a lot of questions...I have done a ton of research but I can honestly say I think I have learned more off here than just random websites. I would like to Thank everyone for any and all help!!

Welcome to the forums!  We love questions so ask away.  Its also nice to see another farm girl on here.  Along with my chinchillas I also have boar and boar/Kiko goats, a donkey,  buff orfington chickens, 8 rabbits,  plus the family dog and cats.  :)

I have been trying to talk my dad into a miniature donkey but I've had no luck....I have always wanted to have a rescue farm for large and  small animals so hopefully some day I will be able to accomplish that.

I just want to say Thank You again to everyone for all your help!

Welcome! That's so cool that you have goats!
In your state, what are the exotic pet laws? I know that here in NYC, virtually no exotics are allowed. Chinchillas are, but even sugar gliders are banned! And ferrets can't be sold here because someone once set a whole bunch loose and they multiplied.... Haha :)

Well I live in a town that has maybe 500 people so I guess I never thought about researching the exotic pet laws...but as of right now my oddest pets have been pot bellied pigs, turtles, coyotes, raccoons and now a chinchilla! And yes I did say raccoons and coyotes lol We got them before their eyes were open and raised them...The coyotes were very protective and very loyal and the raccoons were very mischievous! We bottle fed them until they were old enough to eat solid foods..we never fully caged them so we were within legal limits, they could come and go as they pleased and when they were old enough for breeding they said their final goodbyes so to speak and took off to the woods.
