Can someoen identify the breed of my chins?
« on: September 27, 2011, 04:15:15 PM »

Can anyone tell me what color variant my Chin and her kits are? I have a standard gray male that is unrelated to them, and they look a little different than him. They seem to be gray with a hint of brown.  The chin mom was bred before I adopted her. I'm not exactly sure how to post pics in the threads here. I have Pictures of them in my personal album on here. It consists of just 2 pictures total.  Can anyone identify them?

they could be hetero beiges. what colour eyes do they have? are they red? some red are really dark and only visibly red under certain light so have a close look :) if they're beiges, they will start getting freckles on their ears and nose and paws when they're a bit older.

They appear to be lighter standard grey from pictures.

They appear to have dark brown eyes. I'm not sure what breed the father was. He was adopted before I adopted Raisin.  Raisin has a band of white white on her tail. The kits have this same band of white.

The reason I am asking is I may decide to breed them in the distant future.  I have my reservations about it though as I am unsure of the father's breed. :-\

If you don't know the chins background I would not breed them.  How do you know the father didn't have tooth issues or some other problem that would breed into the kits.  That is why breeders work so hard to improve the breed and keep pedigrees.  Reputable breeders pull chins with problems or ones that aren't up to standard.  Please do you research before breeding, it isn't all cute babies and fun.

In that case, I will go with my gut and not breed them.  Thank you for the response. :)
