I have a question!
« on: December 31, 2008, 07:26:07 AM »

Hi! Umm. If you post a message, all of you information is to the left of your post. Most people have pictures on the left. How do I do that? I'm new.

(If you want to move this, that's fine, because I'm not sure if it goes here anyway!) Thanks a bunch!!!  ;)

Hi Ladybug,
When you have a new question its good to start a new topic in the correct category so people will be able to see it and answer faster.

Its a personal choice to separate or not.  If you leave them together Dad will help care for the babies but Mom could get pregnant again right away which can be hard on her system. If you separate them the male can get lonely but the female may not accept him back after the baby is weaned.

If this is your only pair of chinchillas I would leave them together and see how it goes.  Mark the birth date on a calendar.  If she gets pregnant again and delivers close to 111 days from this litter you should separate them then to give her a rest.  If she waits awhile before her next delivery they are good to leave together then too.  Some girls are good about spacing out their pregnancies on their own.
