Change photo size for avatar
« on: May 11, 2008, 05:41:04 PM »

Hi--Well, I found out what an avatar is.  Do I feel stupid--maybe.  But I always say "there are no stupid questions".  The only way to find out something, is to ask & you might get an answer.  So, if you're going to get embarassed, do it & get it over with  :blush2:.  With that said, here is my question.  How do you make a photo smaller when you are trying to choose your own photo for an avatar & the red worded warning comes up & tells you the picture is too large? I would like to choose my own, although the Chin Club provides a good selection.        Thanks--JANE ::silly::

Hi Jane,
You would need to down size it with some sort of graphic software on your computer.  If you are unable to do that please email it to me and will fix it for you.  :)

go to photobucket.com and start an account (it's free) and then all you have to do is follow directions and upload your own pic to the site and then click edit once it is uploaded and hit resize and then it will have a avatar option...this is how i did mine and it works great...

Hi & thanks for the info!!  I will check it out.  Jamie mentioned that I need some graphic software.  We now have Photo Shop, just need to learn how it works.  I still like the idea of Photo Bucket, because at least there is someone to contact when you get stuck. I want to be able to do it myself so I don't have to bug anybody.  I don't always have someone around. What size do I adjust it to for an avatar & a picture for the classifieds?  Thanks for your help--JANE ::highfive::

when you click edit it tells you avatar size or there are some other sizes too but they tell you what they are commonly used for i have a hard time figuring things out but it was pretty easy you also can search for pictures on the site to and all kinds of stuff its really neat
