Mine has a tight corkscrew tail, that apparently has the ability to straighten out. The majority of the time it is curled all the way up and it rests on the fur directly above the tail causing what looks like an indention. When I groom her, the hair goes right back into place, so I don't know if I would necessarily consider her deformed. I would think it would be considered a deformity if the tail was stuck in that position. I dunno...

Some curl is OK as long as it doesn't touch the fur on their back.

On the show table she would be marked down if the tail rests on fur.  Doesn't matter if the fur goes back into place when groomed.

Yes it seems some are confused about what a curl is.
Their tail should be "C" shaped some of the time, and arc toward their backs, but a cork screw is what we refere to as a curly tail. ::nod::

Does anyone have a picture they'd like to share? I'm curious as to what the curly tail looks like!  :)

Ah ha! Now I finally know why Cheech was in the pet store. I always wondered because she has amazing quality of fur and all the right proportions, it was her tail. Chong is a lovely pedigree Violet whom my boyfriend paid a lot for (he won't tell me how much) of course I don't have his certificates because he was sold as a pet.
I love her curly tail, I run my finger along it to straighten it and it pings back. ;D

Edit: Just got a new PC so when I get my phone hooked up to this one I'll share a picture of her tail.
