Q & A / Re: Please help me!! I'm a new chinchilla owner
« on: December 31, 2015, 03:21:46 AM »
Congratulations on your new Furball. Firstly, try not to worry too much. Your chin will naturally be a little stressed due to new surroundings and the alarm sound being made is normal. Every chinchilla is different, so it's just a matter of time, and letting your chin find his own level. You might like to monitor food and water intake, plus pooping and peeing as these are the best indicators of your chins health. Sitting quietly by the cage and chatting to your Furball may also help. Enjoy your chinchilla  :).

Likewise. Mine all love shreddies and press their little faces agains the cage doors when they hear the tun rattle.

Chinchilla safe herb mixes can give your chins some interesting variety in their diet. Some mixes come already prepared. It's just a case of doing your research first, and then seeing what herbs your chin enjoys. I feed my herd herbs sparingly, and they all get very excited when due for them  ;)

My chins can kill even robust toys in a matter of hours, so tried to get the ones that will hopefully last maybe a day  ::chinhappy::

Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum, but not to chinchilla keeping. I'm the proud mum and slave to 15 beautiful chinny boys in a lovely selection of mutations and all full of attitude  :). Chinchillas have become an integral part of my life over the last few years, and I hope to have some interesting chinny discussions with some of you in the near future  ::chinhappy::
