« on: June 20, 2010, 05:56:41 AM »
I got a 3 gallon tank yesterday and got a beautiful betta named Ed. He is very happy, he loves his tank. I really like him. He is always flaring, lol. But he's really inspecting his new tank. It has a filter, hood, lighting, everything. I really didn't have the money for it but wanted a betta really bad, lol.

Other Pets / Rocky's Going More Blind
« on: June 19, 2010, 03:56:27 AM »
Well to make a LONG LONG story short Rocky (One of my jack russell’s) is missing one eye it had to be removed. She has to have three different kind of drop in her eyes 9 times a day. We are doing everything possible to keep that one eye going. But I have noticed she is bumping into things more and more and I will be over in say the kitchen and she will want a treat and barks but she will be baking at the fridge or something. She will also think Im in spots when Im not in that spot. It’s going down hill and that’s my fear. We have an appointment with the specialist in two weeks. (4 hours away every 3 months she goes), long trip but I would do anything for her. Im just really sad it’s declining and my fear is she will have to get her other eye removed. She still does see some thing which is good but not very well. However, she is such a happy energetic dog with everything she has been threw. She is very happy, even blind. I love her so much it totally breaks my heart watching her go blind even though it does not seem to bother her. She does not deserve this and I wish I could explain to her what's going on, but I think it bothers her more then me.

Other Pets / Bud & Charlie -pics
« on: June 17, 2010, 06:34:52 AM »
Charlie is my parrot fish, I have had him since he was a fry. And I just got my FH, Bud about a week ago, do any of you know when they really start to colour up?

My FH is settling in well now, he's eating and he has tons of energy. I just can't believe how much he goes crazy for food now. It's amazing. They get along great so far but if the FH gets too aggressive for Charlie Im getting him a 120 gallon for him. That's my back up plan, any excuse to get another tank, lol. I am going to anyway.

Bud is a bit to skinny but I will fatten him up.

Other Pets / My Parrots & Jack Russell's
« on: June 05, 2010, 05:30:29 AM »
These are my two parrots, Chiquita Banana, the yellow one, she is an Indian Ringneck. Then Boomer, he is a Green Cheek Conure. Chiquita talks, she says a whole bunch of work. They are SO LOUD! Chiquita is always chattering and saying her words. My neighbor Eddie can even hear them but Im so used to it I don't even notice anymore. Chiquita is the loudest, she is so naughty. She loves to steal things and get into trouble. Boomer is more laid back but he has his tantrums. I have to wear headsets to watch my movies at night so I can hear.

I have two JRS’s. They are a bundle of energy. They are very high strung. They are sisters, we got them when they were three weeks old. Rocky is the spotted one and Jack is the standard. I love them to peaces. Jack is very bold and hyper and has to investigate everything. She races around like crazy outside. She will only get drinks from the bathroom sink, weird. She barbs and I have to pick her up to get a drink. Rocky is more laid back. She loves her food, she even crys for it. She also is obsessed with her kong, If we are outside you have to throw it and she carries it everywhere. She jus loves it.

I also have three fish tanks.

So my house is very loud and very crazy all the time but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I love them all.

Memorials / Good By Candy
« on: May 29, 2010, 02:23:40 AM »
Good By Candy. Yesterday was really hard. I held her the whole time in my arms. They injected her and gave me a blanket to hold her in and she was sleepy. I held her tight and told her I loved her and would never forget her. They gave us our privacy and came in checking to see if she was still with us. Then after a while she was not with us anymore and she went peacefully. I cried so hard. It is so tough to put an animal to sleep. It would be easier if you were not there but I want my animals to be with me until the very end and I want to be the last one they see and know mommy is there. My mom went with me for support, it was very hard on her too. She has known Candy for 8 years. When I got home I just layed on my bed and watched my fish. My whole body felt like it was hit by a bus. But she is gone in peace now and I told her to say hello to my other baby chinchilla Peeps up there. But I know in my heart I did the right thing, that chin was all bone. It’s been a long time coming. I will miss her with all my heart, I loved that blob to peaces. Yes, she was a blob, lol. But that was Candy.

Memorials / I’m eithanizing Candy tomorrow
« on: May 26, 2010, 07:18:06 PM »
I just had to put down her daughter Trouble, now Candy. They were a rescue from a breeding ranch. Candy has been sick for a while now and I have been hanging on to long. Now she stopped eating, she’s loosing weight, she just lays in her box and her kidneys are shutting down. Her pee has a really bad ammonia smell, chins pee does not smell bad. Im just not looking forward to this. I feel sick knowing tomorrow is the day my baby will be gone. She doesn’t have any spunk anymore, I know in my heart Im doing the right thing. Im just going to miss her and I just had to do this with Trouble. It’s going to be really hard. She lived a happy life, nice big cage, lots of toys, a chin room to run in, now it’s time for her to go see her daughter.   She is very loved and very special. Every night I tuck her under my shirt and we watch a bit of TV together. She like that. So today Im just going to spend all day with her and suck in every moment I can.

I built my chinchilla cages with my dad. It was a lot of work. He also helped me build a chin room just for them. It's all safe so they can run around and have a blast. We buily them a long time ago and they have lasted about 6 years. There still in good condition.

My crazy jack russell Jack, she is beyond nuts, I love that dog.

My other crazy jack russell Rocky who is just as nuts, there sisters.

« on: May 13, 2010, 04:14:39 AM »
Well my Aunt took the three barbs so I have more tank space. It would not have worked and I would have been overstocked. I miss them though a lot! But here is Wilbur and Charlie, they get alog so well, they are best friends. Wilbur is an Oscar and Charlie is a parrot fish. I have three tank, two 75 gallons and one 35 gallon. The other 75 gallon is a convict tank.

Other Pets / My Parrots
« on: May 10, 2010, 04:10:23 AM »
I have two crazy parrots, Chiquita Banana and Boomer. Chiquita is a handful. She is always steeling things, getting into trouble, she is so bad but I love her with all my heart. They are so loud I have to wear head sets to watch movies. Chiquita is very bossy and independent. She likes to sit on my head all the time. Boomer is more laid back. He was a rescue. He was abused physically and mentally. He has a cigarette burn on him, he was around pot and cigarettes. He was severely malnourished and dehydrated, I never in my life ever saw an animal drink so fast in all my life. He was literally choking. It took many vet trips to get him back to health but he's gaining weight and is extremely happy, he goes on me and sits with me at the computer and helps me type.

As you can see in the video she broke my camera, lol. Bugger! I had to get it fixed.

General Chat / My Chinchillas, New Here
« on: May 10, 2010, 03:58:19 AM »
I'm new here so I thought I would show off my chins. I have six of them. I used to be a breeder but stopped for a while. I was breeding them to keep not sell, I was up to eight. Im thinking of breeding again. It was such a blast raising babies. I lost a kit which was really sad but the others are still with me. The names of my chins are Tucker (pink white), Candy (Gray), Chilly (gray, mother of Chicklette and Digit), Digit (Gray), Chicklette (beige), Silly (beige, father of Digit and Chicklette.)  Im thinking of breeding Tucker and Chicklette. Or Tucker and Digit. I also had a chinchilla named Peeps, her parents died when she was one week old. I had to hand raise her myself. She lived seven years and I recently had to put her to sleep do to infections in the gums, loose teeth and malocclusion. She was like a cat, she had play times on my bed every day, we ere always together. I miss her with all my heart. When I put her to sleep my heart felt like it was being ripped out. I miss her so much and loved her so much.
