Memorials / Ziggy.

I lost one of my beloved chinchillas yesterday. Ziggy had been having eating issues for some time but nothing could be diagnosed. His condition deteriorated over the weekend and he went to the vets yesterday. His back teeth were growing at a peculiar angle, the vet believed the cause to be some unknown trauma. There was nothing positive that could be done for him except euthanasia. I've requested that his ashes be returned to me and then at least he's home.

General Chat / Cage Chewing!

Can anyone please suggest an effective method to prevent my white mosaic chinchilla from chewing his cage? He lives quite contentedly with his standard cage mate and has enough chew toys to sink the Titanic;hanging toys, sticks etc. he's got a very layed back nature and is in excellent health. He enjoys being handled, so I don't believe stress is an issue. He's particularly bad in the early evening, and seems to prefer chewing his cage to chewing his sticks and toys

General Chat / Fallout.

					I had to separate one of my boys yesterday. He was housed with two other chins and they had both taken to bullying him and pulling out his fur. Luckily he's sustained no injuries, just a bit of stress. I've housed him alone, and he's just starting to eat and poop as he should. His fur at his rear end looks like a war zone, but will grow back in time. At least he's ok, which is all that matters.

					Hi guys,
I'm new to this forum, but not to chinchilla keeping. I'm the proud mum and slave to 15 beautiful chinny boys in a lovely selection of mutations and all full of attitude  :).
