General Chat / Laying Positions

I just let Dusty out for playtime for the first time in a month,(i know bad but i had finals and then i went on vacation) And he mustve really gotten out of shape because he was probably out for 45 min and then when i put him back in he lied down on his side to sleep like a person and he usually sleeps sitting upright so he must have been pooped. at least im hoping thats all it is .
Does anyone elses chinchillas sleep in funny positions? pictures would be a bonus

Cages / Need a New Cage

I bought a new cage about 6 months ago, it has a copper bottom and it is a real pain to clean, so im looking for a new cage, but all the ones ive been looking at are to small or dont seem fit for a chinchilla. Any suggestions? O and the cage is for one chinchilla, and i keep a saucer wheel in it, and a house for him to sleep in.

Well our internet is fixed (again).  This time i hope it lasts but anyways... Ive decided to get a second chinchilla theyll be in seperate cages but im thinking wethere they remain companions or if i should let them have a litter. Ive always wanted to and i could keep them, any advice? Anything i should be worried about?

Ive heard that people sometimes give their chinchillas Rose petals, What are the rules to go by? i mean i know not to give them any with pesticides but like are the ones i could buy at Qfc fine?  and what are the nutritional values?

Cages / Looking for a good cage

Ive been trying for the longest time to find a new cage. I want it to be big because the one hes in now is huge and i dont want to move him to a smaller cage. What i really want is a cage with a high bottom because he tosses everything out of the cage and sprays the wall and carpet with pee. I was going to find him a cage mate and partner but ive decided against that now and am just looking for another chinchilla. Female and they will have seperate cages, but still be next to eachother. I did find this one really great cage but it was expensive and i dont think i could find a place for two of them. There were some other concerns i had with it too. Any suggestions would be great or a place to find a good cage.

Other Pets / Getting a bunny!

Were getting our kitchen remodeld and after thats done were going to get a bunny. Weve been talking about it for awhile and my moms been thinking about it since we visited a bunny rescue and they were all potty trained to go in a little corner on newpaper. But we found this store out in issaquah were we get our food now cause its always fresh and they sell mazuri, and that day they had bunnies for sale and my mom just fell for them. She was on and off but after getting to see them and hold them and talked to this show breeder there for awhile she said as soon as the kitchen's done were going to get one. Im looking for some great books on bunnies if anybody knows of any. But im so excited to get one, but we havent told my dad yet and he probaly wont find out till weve already got the bunny. Thats how it happend with all our other animals

Q & A / Mazuri or Oxbow?

Ive been feeding Dusty oxbow pellets but my mom recently saw a store selling mazuri and she remembered that i said it was the best, which i what iv heard, but im wondering if i should switch Dusty over?
