Pics of my two CRAZY jack Russell's Rocky and Jack, they are sisters. Rocky is blind, we take her 4 hours away to a specialist every 2 months. It's a long drive. She currently just went blind and now she is learning command words. She bumps into thing but I say "watch it" and she stops. BUT she is such a happy dog, she inspires me, I love them so much. She still goes for walks, she still runs around in the backyard and goes swimming. She gets eye drops 7 times a day, different kinds and she is such a good girl with it. She has trouble with the stairs so I carry her up. So I just thought I would post some pics of them.

Memorials / I can't believe Im posting this.
« on: August 20, 2010, 03:28:17 AM »
This morning I woke up and Chilly, Chicklette and Digit were dead. Mom and her two daughters. Silly must have had something that passed on to them. I only have one chin now, Tucker and he thank goodness in not in the chin room. Im stunned, Im devastated, Im shocked, I was hyperventilating this morning, I could not catch my breath. I beyond sad, sad does not even compare to how I feel, that's 4 chin. There are no more chins in the chin room.

Chicklette, I love you for the little trouble maker you were, always into something. You were so bad but in a good way.

Digit I love you for how hyper and active you were. With all your happy hops and racing around the cage.

Chilly, I love you for the perfect mom you were and how much you loved your children. You were my first chin.

I will miss all three of you with all my heart. I wish I new what happened, it's all my fault for not knowing, Im sorry.  ::cry222:::

Im in total shock.

Chit Chat / Getting Gallbladder Removed
« on: August 04, 2010, 06:49:03 AM »
In two days I’m getting my gallbladder removed. I’ve been in terrible pain so I will be out of commission for a while.  But hopefully soon up to posting. They said it’s an out patient operation and not a big one. So I cleaned everything, my tanks and cages and house so I don’t have to do anything. I’m a bit nervous even though it’s a mild operation, it’s still surgery. So if I’m not on for a bit that’s why.

Memorials / Good By Silly my Love
« on: July 31, 2010, 03:48:35 AM »
I woke up this morning and my baby, Silly passed away. I have no clue why, he wasn’t sick or anything but he was very old. I will miss him with all my heart, he was the clown of the chins. A goof ball and Im going to miss him. This is so hard loosing him. My heart dropped when I saw him this morning. Im so upset right now. I loved him so much. My little goof ball will truly be missed. It’s hard picking up the lifeless body, I was shaking. Im am burring him in the alley were there are flowers so he will always be remembered in that spot. There are lots of flowers that will surround him. If I did it in the backyard the dogs would dig him up. But he was so cute and he loved to race around and jump off the walls in the chin room. I can’t believe Im posting this, it does not seem real to me. I just can’t believe this, Im in so much pain. Non-animal people don’t understand this but it’s like a blow to the stomach.

I just got them 4 days ago so they are not that blue yet but they are eating and settling in nicely. I really love these guys. They eat EVERYTHING. I got them off KIJIJI for only $5 each, great deal.  They are eventually going into a species only 75 gallon tank.

I just got a JD named Jack. I think he is a male, right? He's awsome, not skittish at all and eats like crazy. I was not planning on getting one but you usually don't see very pretty ones around here so I HAD to get him.

Also a couple pics of my GT, Skittles.

Other Pets / Rocky is not 100% Blind
« on: July 13, 2010, 06:45:16 AM »
Well Rocky (one of my jack russell terriers) was having a lot of trouble, she would be walking into my fish tank and just sit there and getting extremely confused around the house. When we took her for a walk she would walk into trees and the stairs to the garage, she couldn’t see, I had to pick her up. I have to use my voice to tell her where I am.

We rushed her into the vets again, 4 hours away and he tested her. He said she is now totally blind. I started balling. My baby can’t see. Im glad I already started voice commands. This is just terrible, I feel so bad for her. There is nothing I can do. But despite everything she is as happy and demanding as can be, that dog just keeps on going. She’s seriously my hero, nothing, I mean nothing stops that dog, she will be just fine.

So that is what’s going on. Her pressure reading was threw the roof, we have to keep that monitored, she is not in any pain so the eye does not need to be removed yet. As long as we keep her on those drops she shouldn’t be in any pain. If she acts mope and we suspect she is in pain and her pupils fully dilate or turn blue we need to go see him and her eye may have to come out. I dread that, it was a horrible experience the first time.

Im sure glad I have an emergency account for her. I set that up a long time ago, this is the first time I had to go into it.

Other Pets / Rocky's Specialist Update
« on: June 30, 2010, 04:56:41 AM »
As some of you know Rocky had one eye removed. Some are following this if not to make a long story short, her lens popped back and one day woke up totally blind, her pupils were fully dilated, the next day she had to have it removed. So now we are trying to save her other eye. I put three different kinds of drops in her eyes 7 times a day.

Anyway, the specialist we go to is about 3 to 4 hours away, LONG trip. But he’s the best. Well the update is not good. They do this pressure reading, the normal range is about 20. Last times it was 28, now it was 35. He said don’t panic yet. But she IS having more trouble and is going more and more blind. He said she is not in any pain right now. We have to go back in three months as usual and keep up with the drops. He said if her eye looks blue or gray to bring her in right away or if she is having problems.

I am teaching her commands so when she does go blind she will understand these commands. But threw all this she is such a happy dog, nothing gets her down, nothing seems to bother her. I truly admire that dog. I love her so much and would do anything for her.

She is so bad at the vets though; she hates all other dogs and constantly barks, lol. But she knows this is a place she doesn’t want to be. But she is so good getting her eyes tested on the table.

But for now she can see a bit, that is our goal, to keep her seeing as long as possible and keeping her pain free. She will go blind, it’s just  a matter of time. I just wish she didn’t have to go threw all this. My other dog, Jack is fine. I took her to since they are sisters and she’s okay.

Here are some pics and we saw some Buzzards. I took some pics of them.
