Q & A / forcing to hold

Hi all First of all I just wanted to say how much I love this site and you all are so helpful.  I have had my chin for over a week now and he still does not like to be held or really touched for that matter. lol. The last couple of days I have forced him to stay in my arms for maybe about 5min to just hold and talk to him.  However he squirms the whole time and I can tell he does not enjoy it.......so my question is should I be forcing this to get him use to being held or should I let him come to me on his own terms?

General Chat / Stressed because of cage location

Hi all I am a new Chin owner and so excited to have found this forum!!  I am in love with my little guy, I have had him for about a week now and I have a concern.  His cage is in our main living area because we live in a small townhouse and really there is know where else for him to go!!  I have 2 kids 4 and 6, during the day only the 4 year old and I are home but still it can get noisy with all the normal day to day living.  I don't want this to be a stressful environment for him with all the noise during the day not allowing him to sleep. I called the pet store where I purchased him and they said he was in a noisy pet store all day so he will be fine but I would love to hear from all of you with experience.  Thanks
