I posted some photos of my Chinchilla that I just got Monday. They are not the very best of photos, but enough to, hopefully, get some answers about two health concerns I have.
There seems to be a fungus on her ears. It is rough and raised to the touch when you rub her ears with your fingers and it looks like a black or dark in color. Her feet look like they are calloused. They are not bleeding and they are not crimson red in color or anything, but they look very calloused, peeling, scaled, and somewhat red. Is this normal?
I have a 100% wood four story cage. There is wire as a backing for us to look in, but she has a solid wood base. I have a few compartments with one having kitty litter, one with the alfalfa hay, one with food and water, one for sleeping (it is completely dark and can't be seen by us unless we open the door.
I only acquired her Monday, Nov 3,08. I don't know much about her because the previous owner only had her four months. I have never had a Chinchilla before, so I am just learning. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
God bless
