Congratulations on your new Furball. Firstly, try not to worry too much. Your chin will naturally be a little stressed due to new surroundings and the alarm sound being made is normal. Every chinchilla is different, so it's just a matter of time, and letting your chin find his own level. You might like to monitor food and water intake, plus pooping and peeing as these are the best indicators of your chins health. Sitting quietly by the cage and chatting to your Furball may also help. Enjoy your chinchilla .
