Title: Urine on Fur?
Post by: RigzBandz on July 09, 2016, 10:44:15 AM
I thought I'd ask a random question I've dealt with previously, if a Chinny urinates on their fur what is the best way to remove the stains?

Use unscented baby wipes to get off the worst of it. Then dust daily. If its a white chin you can mix in a spoon full of corn starch to help whiten the fur.

Urine on the fur can be a sign of health issues. So just be observant and make a mental note of why the chin is getting urine stains

Dust daily for only a week or two at most to get lighten the stain and perhaps diagnose a problem. After that dust normally again. Chinchillas should normally be dusted about every other day to every two days to prevent excessive skin dryness.

How is your cage set up? Are you using solid shelves? Fleece lining? Trays with bedding? How long has your pet been having problems? Do you think it could have something to with the cage or bedding?
