Title: is this chinchilla safe?
Post by: Rachael29 on January 08, 2016, 05:20:50 PM
Hi Guys
so I have bought new cages and now searching the web for things to kit it out!
I came across this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Happy-Small-Animal-Mineral-Tunnel/dp/B004OSVW74
Just wondering if any-one knows if they are chinchilla safe?
Thanks

I'm a little skeptical of soluble minerals. General wisdom for chinchillas is to avoid them.

I have used a different tunnel and it was really nice when it lasted, I think I had it for about a year before it got grungy. It was made by SuperPet and they call it fiddlesticks (Google "super pet fiddlesticks" and you'll see many examples) but I think there are other versions of it out there. It is basically wood pieces wired together. I bent it into a tunnel and put it on the floor of the cage. If you find and order one make sure to get the large because the small is for hamsters and small rodents.

Hello

I use these and ask of mine love them!
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Boredom-Breaker-Rabbits-Guinea-Chinchillas/dp/B003MWYA8G/ref=sr_1_8?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1452808159&sr=1-8&keywords=Rabbit+tubes

They love to chew them and run through them.
