hello,
i wanted to know if my chin is hetero or homo beige if someone could send pictures i'll be gratefull. :)
-
With this mutation I am not sure if you can tell just by looking. They look similar. The homo beige is typically a few shades lighter than hetero. Do you know if both parents were beige? If both were then you know it's homozygous.
-
A homo beige will be very pale and have pale pink eyes.
But honestly if you are not breeding it really doesn't matter

i don't know because i bought it from a pet store and i basicly know nothing about her.
I was asking because i want to breed with a pink white chinchilla and i wanted to see the mutations of the babies.
-
Please don't breed pet store chinchillas. You don't know what kinds of genetic problems it can pass on to the kits either.
-
My long post didn't go through and since I am on a phone short and simple.and somewhat harsh but honest...
Don't breed your petstore animals. You will produce crappy babies who's health issues will break thier owners heart and leave rescuers a huge mess to clean up. If you want to breed go to a reputable...REPUTABLE ....breeder and get high quality breeding stock. No body wants a chinchilla from someone breeding mutation to mutation just based on what colors they can get..that.is genetically unsound and ends up with a defect.

I've never thought of that but now I am so sad because I wanted to breed my two boys (one is from a pet store, one is from a breeder) one day :(

This thread may be of help to you about not breeding pet store chins:

Unfortunately it is not worth the pain and suffering the animals may go through if you choose to breed chins with no backgrounds, and they end up with horrible incurable diseases.

yes i know unfortunately that you're right. :(
