Title: Prevue Hendryx Chinchilla Cage Question
Post by: michiru4ever on May 09, 2012, 08:45:27 PM
I'm researching cages to find the best one for my money before I seriously consider getting my first chinchilla. I was wondering if this was a good option.

*1/4" bar spacing
*Two metal shelves and two solid metal ramps
*Versatile cage can be used with or without the included metal bottom grill. And since the grill is removable, cleaning is a breeze
*20-1/2" x 31" x 39-1/2" high (exterior with shelf underneath for storage). Interior of cage is 28-1/4" high.

What I'm most curious about is if anyone has this cage, and if so what are the pros and cons? Would you recommend it?

Hi there. That cage is too small. My cage is five ft. high, four ft. long and three ft. deep and I worry that it's too small. It's a ferret nation and apparently I can buy a kit to add on another level which I'm thinking of doing. The cage can't be too big!

hi there,

if you can afford it, i would go bigger.  the more room, the better for your chin to be happy and be able to have more fun.  alot of people use fns, quality cages, or even a fiesty ferret from prevue.

I have that cage, not by choice, it came with the girls when I rescued them, it is an obnoxious cage, TO small for my two girls if you ask me. and the bottom is wire, which is not good for their little feet. and its hard to reach all parts of the cage with that little bitty door. if someone really doesn't want to come out of that cage they aren't going to! and it makes cage decorating so much harder!
just my two cents
