Title: Board Lost
Post by: chinclub on May 20, 2006, 01:06:46 PM
I hate that we lost our old forum with over 4 years of posts, but I'm sure together we can fill this new board up.  I know there are still alot of missing features and a few missing graphics but I'm working to get those fixed.

My computer got a virus and crashed so I have no computer access at home.  This will make website work hard for the next few days.  Please bare with me and I will get this forum build back as soon as I can.

Man, your hosting service really messed up. When they moved servers did they tell you before hand that the new server was made from old washing machine parts and broken glass?

Do you still have the contents of the old database someplace?

Oh Don't even get me started on how bad they screwed up!!!  I am moving our site to a new host because of it.  But don't worry, there shouldn't be any down time involved.

If you haven't already decided on a host, consider Zipa.com That's who I'm hosted with. They're based in New Orleans and when the hurricane hit I only experianced about four hours of down time through the whole thing. I don't even know how they could have done that since thier servers were probably all under water, or strapped to the roof of a car that was also under water.

Thanks for the suggestion but I have already signed up with someone.  This was the person who started the hosting company we currently use.  It was great when she owned it but when she was bought out it went down hill quick.  She has since started up a new hosting company and from past experience with working with her I know our site will be in good hands.

::silly:: Hi!

Do you get your post looking like this:  "::silly::Hi!" ???

If so, when using the smiles, hit the space-bar  before and after the smilie code.

Be sure to use the Preview and the Spell Check ... they work great!  ;)

Hi--I know I am replying to an old post.  I just wanted to say that I can't imagine having down time on the club!!  To look at it now, I would have never expected problems.  I only knew by reading about it on the forum.  What a mess things must have been for you, Jamie   ::tickedoff::!!  This is a great club to belong to!!      JANE
