Title: Do the types of chinchillas make a difference?
Post by: animalluver on February 22, 2011, 07:00:56 PM
I recently got a new chinchilla and was therefore doing some research on how to help them get along. I found that there were three types or classifications of chinchilla: the brevicaudata, the lanigera, and the costina. My older chinchilla is very small and energetic (the costina type) whereas the new chin is a brevicaudata, who are bigger and less highly-strung. The older chin harasses the new chin and I'm just wondering if they had both been, say, the less highly strung type, they would have gotten along better. Thanks!  ::shrug::

The "types" of chinchillas doesn't make a difference. They are so intermixed at this point it really is just a body type. Like tall people or short people

some chins get along fine while others never will.
