General Chat / petsmart-chin safe treats
« on: July 02, 2012, 07:39:15 AM »
I got a few new treats at petsmart. I wasn't sure if they were truly chinchilla safe. One is a brand supreme original. Its cookies for chinchillas. It says it has wheat flour, wheat middlings, flaked oats, sugarm soybean oil, flaked dried carrots raisins. The other one is a super pet brand. Its natural lots o loops. It is made from loofah, wicker and corn husk.

My puppy likes to eat cat and chinchilla poop. I was wondering if anyone's dog does this or how to get her to stop. My bf keeps the cats litter box pretty clean but there is going to still be stuff in it.

That is intersting.

One night i acutlly i woke up in the middle of the night to one of my chinchillas on the computer keyboard. The other one had stayed in the cage. The only thing i could have thought of was that the door did not get shut all the way. The cage they are in now has 4 doors. Two mainly get used. I'm not sure what type of cage you have. I have a wire cage. You can just close the cage door, but to have to more succure, you can put the little handle through the above wire so its acttuly locked so if they did try to push it open they would not be able to.

I'm very glad that the little guy was found and was safe!

I think mine would end up chewing on them.I used metal clips. that you need to screw in. They do have some rubber on them. Mainly on the inside.

i know i have a picture of my cage somewhere on here but its prob easier to post a new picture. I bought this cage used. Its prob 4 ft high or higher. Whats holding the connecting pieces are plastic clips. A wire piece is placed on top of another and on one side the clips aren't holding well. I also want to put wooden shelves but i want to fix the cage first. Its a super pet cage i belive. Any ideas? I'll try to post a picture later.

yes i have. Petsmart sells something like that. My groomer said they cost alot over time. She said to use a litter box and put real grass in it since its cheaper and dogs can tell if its real or fake. But i'm still considering trying it.
