Well, you would think that it would harm your chinchilla because of the poison. But, I :-[ wouldn't know.

you are welcome our bug guy will not spray a house that has any animals or the air pump is still on for the fish tank cause that will get in the tanks as well and you might loose your fish too and frankly I have too much money in them I don't have salt water yet I am working on it i was going to turn my 60 gal into a salt water but it would have cost $400 just to get it up and running that doesn't include the fish or decorations! and that doesn't include that tank cause I already have that I am lucky to have a bug guy that is cautious ::silly:: ::silly:: ::silly::

I took 8 chins to a hotel for a night, I was told to take them out for 24 hours.
I think it depends of what they are using as to the length of time. Some stay airborn and or toxic longer.
You would think the sprayer/bugguy would be the expert on the safety of the stuff wouldn't you??????
I'd find a bugguy who knew what he was doing. ::nod::

::silly::Yep!  I would definitely take them elsewhere when the apartment or home gets sprayed.
After they spray, open the doors and windows and clear the air for a couple of hours ... even then I would not want the little ones to go back in for at least 24 hours.  If you have a room they play in outside of the cage, I would ask that they do not spray that room OR I would go behind and wash down everything in that room, including a rug shampooed.

Chinchillas are exotic animals and have a very delicate system!

Someone said Chinchillas are like an orchid ... beautiful, but delicate.

I have heard of a chin having a reaction to perfume, fabric softener, detergent to wash clothes with, aerosol sprays and potpourri.

I would not trust what a 'bugguy' would tell me. What would he say if it killed them ...  ?

::silly::A word of caution ... USUALLY the 2 places they will spraythe most, is the same two places chins usually play ... linoleum or hard wood floors (bathroom and/or kitchen).  They spray heaviest around baseboards, cabinet bases and toilet bowl bases.

You are very lucky to have a grandma that will take them in and take care of them for you! Give her a big hug when you drop them off and when you pick them up another big hug & a special little Thank-you gift.

Grandmas love even the least bit of appreciation you show them.   ::nod::
(I know, I'm a grandma myself!)    :blush2:

There is another member I always referred to in the female gender, until I saw a picture of the young man one day.    :-[

::silly:: Just send me a picture of you and I'll set it up for you ... If you have a close-up of the head & shoulders that is real clear, that's the best to work with.  Don't crop it or anything & send it to me via my regular e-mail.  (just click on the envelope at the bottom).   ::)
